Merging your iTunes library - how to do it

iTunes is the central service of your Apple devices that lets you store all your media. This includes apps, music and videos. If you have different songs on your iPhone, you can easily merge them with iTunes' library.

Establishing a large library

Every time you connect your iPhone or even iPad to the computer, the device is usually recognized by iTunes. When you do this, you have the option to make a backup. Besides the conventional backup, you can also access the individual iPads, iPods or iPhones through your device manager in iTunes. Here you can now decide which part of the media libraries you want to merge. Through a synchronization, all data will then be transferred. Everything will be matched and mutually supplemented if there is enough storage space.

How to merge your iTunes library

  1. Open iTunes on your computer and connect your iPod, iPhone or iPad to the PC.
  2. iTunes recognizes your device and asks you if you want to sync it.
  3. Confirm this process. You can also decide here exactly what data you want to sync. This gives you complete flexibility.
  4. Everything will now be synced and your iTunes library will be successfully merged.
