Surfing in private mode with Firefox - here's how

When you browse the Internet with a browser, various information is automatically stored. Search entries, chronicles, cookies and other data are accumulated and can be viewed by other users of the computer. If you don't always want to delete them manually, use private mode.

This is how you surf with Firefox in private mode

When you use Firefox, various information is saved automatically. These are, as with most browsers, your visited pages, search entries or cookies. You can usually deny this in the browser's settings. However, if you want only isolated visits not to show up in the history, you have to use the private mode. Note, however, that the Internet provider can still track your Internet history. If you don't want that either, a VPN connection is necessary. Private mode can be enabled for a specific tab for a short time. Permanently turn on the private mode so:
  1. Open Firefox on your computer and click on the three horizontal lines at the top right to open the menu.
  2. Then select the option "Settings".
  3. On the left side are now different areas. Click here on "Privacy & Security".
  4. Under "Chronicle" you can now select the option "Never create".
  5. Now your browser sessions are permanently treated as in private mode and no page visits are recorded.
