Amazon: Request data - here's how to do it

Amazon is required by the GDPR to provide you with information about the data it holds about you. You can make a request for this via the help section. Providing the data may take some time.

How to find out what Amazon knows about you

If you want to have insight into your customer data from Amazon, you can request it via a contact form at Amazon. Amazon offers here to view available data immediately or to request a full data disclosure to be sent later. You should choose the second option. The immediately available data includes only the information that you can view and change in your profile, i.e. orders, address, phone number and the like. The complete data will be sent to you by mail. This may take several weeks.

Request customer data from Amazon

1. Open Amazon's website.
2. Log in to your customer account.
3. Scroll all the way down.
4. In the last menu, under "We'll help you", you'll find the option "Help."
5. Click on it.
6. Select "On which topic can we help you?“ die Option „Meine Bestellung, Geräte, Digitale Inhalte und Services“.
7. Bei „Meine Bestellung, Geräte, Digitale Inhalte und Services“ wählen Sie „Datenauskunft beantragen“.
8. Wählen Sie „Datenauskunft für spätere Zusendung beantragen“.
9. Markieren Sie alle Daten, die Sie einsehen möchten.
