Facebook: Withdraw friend request

On Facebook, a friend request is quickly sent. Have you thereby accidentally sent the wrong person a request, but this is no reason to panic. If your request has not yet been accepted, you can withdraw it at any time.

Facebook: This option to withdraw a friend request is available

To connect with people on Facebook, you can send them a friend request by clicking the "Add Friend" button. Once a friend accepts your request, the person will appear in your friends list and you can exchange messages or view their profile. If you have accidentally sent someone a friend request on Facebook, you still have the option to withdraw it afterwards.
  1. To do this, call up the profile of the person to whom you sent the invitation and click on the "Friend request sent" button.
  2. Thereupon a context menu opens with several options, in which you please click on "Cancel request".
  3. Afterwards still confirm the displayed message that you really want to cancel the friend request.

How to remove friends on Facebook

If your friend request has already been accepted, you can no longer simply withdraw it. Instead, your only option is to remove the person you accidentally sent a request to from your friend list. To do this, call up the profile of the person in question, click on the "arrow icon" next to the "Friends" entry and select the "Remove as friend" option.
