Steam: Remove friend - how it works

Online gaming is a great way to make new friends. If the interpersonal thing doesn't quite fit in the long run after all, you can remove the person from the list just as easily.

Short process: Steam friendships are quickly terminated if you want them to be.

The longer the Steam friend list, the more options you have for multiplayer sessions. Still, especially online, not all friendships are meant to last forever.

This is how you remove Steam friends

Proceed as follows:

1. Open the friends list.
2. Right-click on the contact you want to "unfriend".
3. Select the lowest option "Manage".
4. Click "Remove as friend".
5. Confirm the confirmation prompt with "Remove as friend" if you are sure you want to end the friendship.

The contact will then disappear from your list and vice versa. This means that you can no longer see each other's activities.
