Sticky Notes: Windows 10 - how to install

With Sticky Notes, Windows 10 offers you a dedicated app to save notes with important ideas directly on the desktop. Before using it, however, you need to download and install the app from the Microsoft Store first. It's easy to do.

Windows 10: How to install the Sticky Notes app

On computers running Windows 10, you have the ability to create notes directly on the desktop using the Sticky Notes app. If you haven't installed the app on your computer yet, you can find it for free in the Microsoft Store. Click on the magnifying glass icon in the opened store, enter "Sticky Notes" and confirm with the "Enter" key. After that, click "Microsoft Sticky Notes" in the list of results and install the app by clicking "Download".

How to use Sticky Notes on Windows PC

Once the installation of Sticky Notes is complete, the application will be available for you to jot down your ideas. To open Sticky Notes, please go to the Windows Start menu, search for Sticky Notes and launch the app by clicking on the entry.

1. If you are using Sticky Notes for the first time, you need to sign in with your Microsoft account first so that your notes will be synchronized between all devices.
2. Anschließend öffnet sich ein neues, gelbes Fenster, in das Sie Ihre Notizen schreiben können.
3. Zusätzlich finden Sie unten mehrere Symbole, mit denen Sie Ihre Notizen formatieren.
4. Um einen neuen Notizzettel zu öffnen, drücken Sie bitte oben links auf das „Plus-Symbol“ oder nutzen Sie die Tastenkombination „Strg“ + „N“.
