InDesign: Align text to baseline grid

By using the baseline grid, you make your work easier when you want to create text that is always the same distance apart. Especially for multi-page documents, this feature is an important part for formatting. Using the grid is very intuitive and can be easily implemented.

InDesign: Select the grid

In order for the text in InDesign to be properly aligned to the baseline grid, you must first use the Text tool and switch to paragraph formatting.

1. Once you have created text and want to align it to the baseline grid, you must click on the paragraph icon in the top menu bar.
2. There you will now find the "Align to baseline grid" icon.
3. Before clicking on the button, mark the text area that you want to align to the grid.
4. Beachten Sie, dass über diesen Weg jeder angefertigte Absatz einzeln an das Raster angelegt werden muss.

InDesign: Text automatisch am Grundlinienraster ausrichten

1. Um die automatisierte Formatierung zu aktivieren, klicken Sie zunächst mit der linken Maustaste in einen Textbereich und wählen Sie anschließend „Fenster“ und dann „Formate“. Dort finden Sie die Option Absatzformate.
2. Suchen Sie nun nach dem Bereich „Einzüge und Abstände“ und aktivieren Sie die Option „An Raster ausrichten“.
3. Weiterhin wählen Sie „Alle Zeilen“ aus.
4. Nun muss nur noch jeder Absatz, der entsprechend formatiert werden soll, mit dem gerade angelegten Absatzformat ausgestattet werden.
