Connect two Alexas - create a group
The Amazon Echo allows you to control various devices by voice command. Setting up the device is done through the app, which you install on a mobile device of your choice. When connecting two Alexas, you can use the same account and activation word.
This is how you pair two Alexas together
If you want to connect several Alexas together, you first need to create a device group in the app.- Go to the menu in the app and click on "Smart Home".
- Select the item "Groups" and then "Add Group".
- Now you need to set "Smart Home Group" as the group type. With a different group type, you may not be able to use multiple Echos.
- Followed by assign a group name. Here you should make sure to choose the name so that you know for which room the respective group is responsible.
- You should also think carefully about the settings for the Amazon Echos. If the devices are closer together, it is worth giving them different activation words to avoid confusion.
- Finally, you need to add both Alexas to the smart home group you created earlier.
- Once both Alexas are connected, they will share different settings. Since the devices are connected to your shared account, you can have your music playing on both of them at the same time or access account information from either device.
