Windows 7 speaker icon disappeared - where did it go?
Windows 7 has not received support from Microsoft for some time and should not be used for this reason. If you still have it installed and have the problem that your speaker icon has disappeared, it may be that the settings are simply disabled.
What to do: speaker icon disappeared in Windows 7
The speaker icon in the taskbar allows you to quickly access the speaker settings and volume mixer. Unfortunately, it happens that the speaker icon simply disappears in Windows 7. However, usually a faulty setting is simply to blame and can be quickly fixed.- Click on the Windows logo at the bottom left and enter "enable or disable system icons" in the search.
- Then click on the first suggestion and wait until the window has opened.
- Now you will be shown a list where you can set which icons you want to be displayed in the taskbar and which not.
- In second place here should be the speaker icon. If this is already on "On", disable it and then enable it again to fix the error in the settings.
- Now confirm the process by clicking "OK" at the bottom right of the window. The settings have now been applied and the speaker icon should be displayed again in the taskbar under Windows 7.
