Google Stadia: Resolution depending on bandwidth - here's how it looks

Since Google Stadia takes care of all the computing power, the only thing that matters on the user's side is the Internet connection. This influences the performance of the gaming cloud, especially the resolution depends heavily on the bandwidth.

Sharp image: Stadia users benefit from the highest possible bandwidth.

The gaming world is eagerly waiting to see how smoothly and trouble-free Google Stadia will actually run. The information on the required bandwidth at least reads promising.

Google Stadia: These resolutions are possible

According to the official Google information, the interaction of bandwidth and resolution looks as follows:
  • 10 Mbps is the recommended minimum with which a 720p resolution at 60 FPS is possible.
  • From 20 Mbps, FullHD (1080p) at 60 FPS and HDR with Dolby 5.1 is possible.
  • From 35 Mbps, you reach the highest level for now, which is 4K at 50 FPS with HDR and Dolby 5.1.
For many gamers, this should be an incentive to upgrade the Internet connection, if not already done. It should be noted that 4K and Dolby 5.1 is only possible with Stadia Pro, regardless of broadband.
