Xbox Series X: Is 4K resolution possible? We have the answer

In terms of resolution and frame rate, the age of the current console generation has become increasingly clear. All the more interesting, therefore, is the question of whether the upcoming Xbox Series X will be capable of 4K.

More than an upgrade: the Xbox Series X will far surpass its predecessor.

In November 2020, it should be so far: With the Series X, the new Xbox generation goes to the start. A look at the technology is therefore imposing.

Xbox Series X: Will 4K be standard?

The answer is basically a clear yes. Just like its future competitor, the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X will be able to deliver images with 4K resolution.
  • Theoretically, even more is possible, as the technical limits of the console are supposed to be 8K and 120 FPS.
  • Which games will support this, however, has not yet been determined. Just as importantly, your TV (or monitor) must also be capable of this, which is by no means common nowadays.
  • The leap to native 4K at a stable 60 FPS is therefore the realistic goal (for now). This flatters the human eye anyway and is thus fully sufficient. The upgrade compared to the previous Xbox One will be enormous.
The Xbox Series X technically makes a step towards current, powerful gaming PCs and that alone should serve as a selling point.
