Apple Music: Manage devices - how to keep track

If you use the Apple Music streaming service on one of your Apple devices or computer, the device is automatically linked to your Apple ID. On your PC or Mac, iTunes gives you the ability to edit and manage all the devices linked to your account.

How to manage your linked devices

If you have too many devices linked to your Apple ID, this can lead to problems. This is because the space is limited to a total of ten different devices. After removing the link, it is only possible to pair the device with another Apple ID again after 90 days. You can edit and manage all devices linked to the account via iTunes:
  1. Start iTunes on your Mac or PC.
  2. If necessary, log in with your Apple ID using the Sign In button in the upper right corner.
  3. Select "Account" in the menu bar and then "Show My Account".
  4. You must now enter the password for your Apple ID. Confirm the entry with [Enter].
  5. Call the item "iTunes in the Cloud". There are listed under "Manage devices" all linked devices.

Device can not be removed: With this trick it works

From time to time it may happen that a device can not be removed. If this is the case, log out of the iTunes Store with the device in question. After that, the device is no longer linked or can be easily removed from the account via iTunes.
