iPhone hangs: This may be the reason

Once your iPhone hangs, it can be extremely annoying: Nothing works anymore and there is no solution in sight. But there are usually simple steps you can take to get a hung iPhone working again.

First aid when your iPhone hangs

It's not just individual apps that can hang up on an iPhone every now and then, but also the entire system software. Then the impression spreads that nothing works at all. But even for this case there are solutions and usually a simple restart is enough.
  1. First it is important that you check whether only an app or with it also the system has hung up. Swipe up from the bottom and pause briefly in the middle. If you still come to the app overview, it is best to close the app by swiping it upwards
  2. If that also no longer works, you have to restart your device. For this, briefly press the volume up button, then briefly press the volume down button and then hold down the power button until the device reboots.
  3. Possible is, for example, a hang-up due to overheating: Then you should let your device cool down first.
  4. Once your iPhone is turned on again, open the settings and look in the menu "General > Software Update". Perform all updates there to avoid future technical problems.

Last resort: reset the device

If even the restart does not help solve your problem, there is still the option to restore your iPhone. The best way is to reset your iPhone to factory settings under "General > Reset" and restore it from a backup.
