Formatting letter in Word - that's possible

Formatting a letter correctly just involves a few principles to follow. The DIN 5008 standard plays an important role in this, containing one or two important specifications.

This is how you succeed in formatting a letter in Word

The DIN standard is designed for a uniform appearance that is also easy to read. For a "normal" letter that you want to write in Word to a friend or family member, thereby also a simpler formatting, which is worked out less formal.
  1. First, you open the writing program "Word".
  2. Then a selection of existing templates opens, from which you can choose a suitable letter template. This is so far already formatted and must be adapted by you only to your needs. If no templates are displayed to you, then simply go to "File" and then "New".
  3. Click your selection and then select "Create". Now the selected template opens, which you can now edit.
  4. Navigate to the text field that you want to customize and add your own text to the existing text. The address can also be adjusted in this way.
  5. If you want to change the font, click on the currently used font in the bar at the top and then click to select a suitable font. Right next to it you can also change the size of the font.
  6. With the underlying "F" you can also mark a selected text area bold, while the "K" represents your text in italics and the "U" this underlined.
  7. If the letter meets your expectations, you only need to save it using the disk and print it with the printer icon.
