Avira: Add exception for blocked applications
Avira is an antivirus software that you can get both for free and for a fee. The costs depend on the desired range of functions. As with most antivirus programs, applications can be blocked directly. For trusted software, of course, you can also add an exception.
How to add an exception for blocked applications with Avira
Avira is programmed to block unknown applications immediately. However, if you want to start a specific application that is subsequently blocked, this can be annoying. With Avira, however, you have the option of adding an exception for an already blocked application, so that you can still launch trusted applications.- First, you need to open the Avira antivirus software on your computer. This is usually done via an icon at the bottom right or via the search function of Windows.
- Then click on "Tools" and select the menu item "Configuration".
- Next, select "System Scanner", then "Search" and finally "Exceptions".
- Here you have the option to select processes or files for which you want to add an exception.
- Use the button with the three dots to select a file on your system.
- Once you have selected the file or process, add it to the exceptions via the "Add" button.
- Also add the exceptions via "Real-time scanner" > "Scan" > "Exceptions" to avoid further problems.
