Set up WLAN Windows 10 - how it works

In order to surf the Internet wirelessly under Windows 10, you must first set up the WLAN connection on your computer. This can be done in just a few steps via the Windows 10 Info Center. Get an overview of how the WLAN setup works.

Windows 10: How to set up a WLAN connection

If your Windows 10 PC is WLAN-enabled, you can easily connect it to a WLAN network and surf the Internet wirelessly. If you are using WLAN for the first time on your computer, you need to set up the connection first as follows:
  1. Click the "bubble icon" at the bottom right of the taskbar to open the notification area, and please go to "Network" there.
  2. Make sure WLAN mode is enabled, and then select the one you want to connect to from the list of available WLAN networks.
  3. To avoid manually connecting to the WLAN network each time, it is recommended to place a check mark next to the "Connect Automatically" entry before clicking "Connect".
  4. When prompted, please type in the security password of your WLAN router and confirm by clicking "Next".

This helps with WLAN problems on Windows 10 PC

If problems occur when setting up the WLAN connection, this can have several causes. If you do not see your router's WLAN network in the network list, please make sure that your computer is within range of the router. Also check if you have selected the correct WLAN network or if the password is correct and try again if necessary.
