Before Corona everything was different, but since 2020 apps with important warnings have arrived in the general public. This includes the warning app NINA, which has been around for years. We explain the app.
NINA went live back in 2015. As a mobile channel, it has since provided information on all major hazard situations, such as floods or major fires.Warning app NINA: All info centrally available
NINA stands for Emergency Information and News App. The task is thus clearly defined:- NINA is based on the modular warning system (MoWas) of the federal government and is operated by the BBK (Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance).
- The app is free and exists for iOS and Android.
- For regional warnings, you can subscribe to specific areas and locations. In this way, you exclude messages about regions that do not affect you.
- Optionally, NINA can also issue warnings about your current location, but without data collection.
- NINA summarizes warnings from different areas, so also from BIWAPP and KATWARN. Meanwhile, the app also informs on the Corona situation.
