There are a variety of so-called USSD and GSM codes, which you can use to access various hidden functions on your phone. What functions you have available on your smartphone depends on several things, such as the operating system or the provider.

General codes in the overview

With the help of GSM codes you can change various services such as mailbox, call forwarding or even the settings of the SIM card. GSM codes are the same in all common mobile networks. USSD codes depend on the network operator and can be different accordingly. You can enter the codes via the number pad in your call app. The codes usually consist of a mix of digits and the hash (#) and star symbol (*). Confirm the entry by pressing the dial or call button.
  1. Using the code *#06#, you can display the serial number or IMEI of your smartphone.
  2. If you want to see your own phone number, this works with the code * 135#.
  3. You can also change the PIN with the following combination: **04*old PIN*new PIN#
  4. If you are not reachable, you can use the code **62*<number># to set up call forwarding to a <number> specified by you. Have you set the number, turn the feature via the ##62# off or via *62# on.

Provider-dependent codes

Also the providers offer in the form of USSD codes that you can use. If you have a prepaid plan with O2, you can check your current balance using the code *101#. If you are a Vodafone customer, you can access the service via *106#. Telecom customers can check their credit via *100#. You can get a complete overview of the codes from your provider.
