Windows: No feedback - here's how to fix it

If an application or even Windows stops responding, you will either get a specific error message or you will get the "No feedback" notification. In such a case, there are several ways you can fix the problem.

Windows: application stops giving feedback

From time to time, it happens that applications crash and stop responding to input. If you do not receive a specific error message, but only the notification that Windows does not receive any feedback from the program, it is difficult to specifically fix the error. There is no all-purpose solution, but there are some tricks that can help you to get everything running again as usual.
  • If an application no longer responds, you can stop it using the Task Manager. The Task Manager can be called, for example, via the key combination [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Esc].
  • If the problems occur more often with an application, this may be due to a faulty installation. Remove the program and then reinstall it.
  • Make sure you have the latest drivers installed on your system. If the drivers are too old, this can lead to errors.

Windows no longer gives feedback

In addition to applications, Windows itself can also crash and no longer give feedback.
  • If the problem occurs frequently, faulty system files may be responsible. Call the command prompt and enter the command "sfc /scannow". Windows will then check all system-related files for errors and repair them if necessary.
  • Check if there is enough space available on the Windows partition.
  • Also make sure that the latest Windows updates are installed.
