How many people can take part in a Skype call at the same time

Skype gives you the opportunity to make free calls over the Internet to individuals or entire groups. With a free Skype account, an audio or video conference with up to 50 people at the same time is feasible.

1. To start a conference via Skype, first log in to your Skype account as usual.
2. Then select a participant for the conference in the "Contacts" area and start the video or audio call by clicking "Call" or "Video call".
3. Once the first conference participant has accepted the call, you can add more people by clicking the "Add Participant" button.

This is how many participants are possible with Skype Business

If you want to hold a conference with more than 50 participants, you will need the paid business version of Skype. This costs between 1.60 euros and 4.50 euros per month or can be purchased together with Microsoft Office 365. If you have Skype Business, meetings with up to 250 people at the same time are possible. In addition, the business version of Skype allows you to hold live conferences with up to 10,000 participants. To start a conference with Skype Business, sign in to the app, select all participants and press "Start conference call".
