WLAN signs - these different symbols exist

The WLAN sign is usually displayed in the taskbar on a Windows PC. The symbol not only shows you that you are connected to the Internet, but also gives additional information about possible WLAN problems. Here you can get information about the symbol meanings.

These are the meanings of WLAN signs

You can tell that your computer is connected to the Internet via WLAN by the WLAN symbol, which consists of a dot surrounded by several wavy lines. In addition, you can also tell from the WLAN sign whether there is a problem with the WLAN connection.
  1. If you see the WLAN sign together with an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle, there is a connection to the router, but an Internet connection is still not possible.
  2. If a red circle with a white X appears instead of the WLAN symbol, the WLAN network could not be found and you should check whether the WLAN function is enabled on the computer.
  3. If the WLAN icon in the taskbar is only pale visible and marked with an asterisk, this means that the WLAN network was found, but a connection is not possible.

This helps if the WLAN sign is not displayed

If you do not see the WLAN sign in the taskbar, it may be that its display has been disabled. To change this, please open the settings by pressing "Windows key" + "I" and navigate to "Personalization" > "Taskbar" > "Enable or disable icons" and make sure the switch next to "Network" is set to "On". Then go to "Taskbar" > "notification area" > "Select icons to display on the taskbar" and select "Network WLAN Internet Access" to make the WLAN sign appear on the taskbar again.
