Insert line breaks in Word - this option is available
The Word word processing program published by Microsoft offers you numerous options to customize your documents. Here you have functions to change the text alignment, shape and color, but also to insert line breaks and blank lines. In addition to formatting, adjustments to the design are also possible.
How to insert a line break in Word
You can use line breaks to format your documents according to your wishes. Word provides you with different types for this purpose. In addition, the word processor already automatically inserts line breaks as soon as a word no longer fits on the line before it. A line break within a paragraph is simply a change to another line. Automatic insertion of a line break can result in unsightly formatting. To avoid this, you should insert a manual line break at these points.- In Word, a distinction is made between a hard and a soft break.
- For example, to end a paragraph, it is necessary to insert a hard line break. You create this by simply pressing the "Enter" key. However, the cursor must be at the end of the paragraph.
- If no paragraph is desired, insert a soft break. To do this, place the cursor at the desired location in the text and press the key combination "Enter key" + "Shift".
- About the ΒΆ button in Word, you can also see which line breaks were set at the various points in the text. So you have the formatting afterwards better in view.
