Microsoft Teams: line breaks - how to set paragraphs

The Office365 application Microsoft Teams is designed to make it easier for you to work in teams, so that you can work together more effectively and efficiently on specific projects without having to be in the same room. Especially in times of the home office, this possibility proves to be particularly practical.

How to set a line break in Microsoft Teams

With the chat function, you can communicate in Microsoft Teams with one or more people as well as directly in your teams. Since thus also quite a few messages can come in and it can happen that the context or the overview is lost, you can quote here, reply directly to messages and also send files. In order to write a clearer text, which is nicely divided into paragraphs, you have the possibility to set a line break.
  • In writing programs such as Microsoft Word or in e-mails, you can do this by simply pressing the Enter key. However, this is not possible in Microsoft Teams. If you click the Enter key while chatting here, your message will be sent directly, even if it is not yet completely finished.
  • To avoid dividing your message into many individual messages, but to be able to send one message with all the information, you manage the line break or the setting of paragraphs in a different way.
