Galaxy Z Fold 2: Factory Reset - how to perform it

If your Galaxy Z Fold 2 regularly hangs or stops working properly for unexplained reasons, a factory reset can help. This deletes all settings, apps, and data from the smartphone and returns the phone to its factory state.

How to do a factory reset on the Galaxy Z Fold 2

Before the reset, you should create a backup of your data, as it will be deleted from the device during the process. To do this, connect the smartphone to a PC and use a data backup app.
  1. Open the settings menu of your smartphone and tap on "Backup and Reset".
  2. There, select the option "Reset to Factory Settings" and confirm this by tapping on "Reset Device".
  3. After that, select "Erase All", which will trigger the factory reset. This process may take a few minutes.
  4. After the reset, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 automatically starts in factory state and can be set up again.

Factory Reset via Recovery Mode

Press the Volume Down button and the Power button simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears. After that, press the Volume Up button in combination with the power button to enter Recovery Mode. Sobald dieser gestartet ist, können Sie mit einem Druck auf „Wipe data/factory reset“ Ihr Smartphone in den Werkszustand zurücksetzen.
