By the end of 2019, around 2.5 million players had bought into Star Citizen. If Cloud Imperium Games has its way, that number should increase dramatically. The referral program is intended to help.

Everyone involved is supposed to benefit from a successful referral - and Star Citizen is no exception.

How Star Citizen's referral program works

Star Citizen's referral program is based on the classic referral principle:

• As you bring new players to Star Citizen, your account will be credited with referral points (RP).
• You will receive one point per recruited player.
• The points unlock rewards in turn. An overview of this can be found here.
• The referral runs on a code. Each player has an individual code. New players can enter this code during registration - the recruiting player thereby receives the referral point.
• A referral is considered successful as soon as the recruited player enters Star Citizen via purchase.
• By using a code, new players receive an additional 5,000 UEC.

The referral program is especially interesting for players with a large reach, such as streamers. Otherwise, it is hardly realistic to recruit several dozen players. At the same time, however, the use of the program costs nothing and is therefore worthwhile even for one or two recruited players, because then there are already small rewards.
