Excel: Copy Conditional Formatting

Creating conditional formatting in Excel can be very tedious and, depending on the size of the formula, can take a lot of time. To avoid having to re-enter the format for each cell where it is needed, the formatting can simply be copied.

Excel: How to copy conditional formatting

Copying a formatting is quite simple and allows you to quickly and easily change certain areas to the desired format.

1. First select the cell in which the formatting has already been created.
2. By pressing the key combination [CTRL] + [C], you can now copy the content as well as the format into the clipboard.
3. Alternatively, you can also cut the entire content by [CTRL] + [X] and paste it in another place.
4. Klicken Sie nun in die Zelle, in der die Formatierung ebenfalls übernommen werden soll.
5. Nutzen Sie die Tastenkombination [STRG] + [V], um alle gespeicherten Inhalte und Formate in die Zelle einzufügen.

Darauf sollten Sie achten

1. Wenn sich in der Zelle mit der Formatierung bereits Inhalte befinden, werden diese ebenfalls kopiert und eingefügt.
2. In der neuen Zelle müssen Sie diese Inhalte dann zunächst entfernen.
3. Sie können das Format auch direkt in mehrere Zellen kopieren, indem Sie die oberste Zelle anklicken und mit gedrückter [SHIFT]-Taste ein paar Zeilen weiter unten erneut einen Linksklick machen.
