With Twitter, you can change both names, although sometimes with limitations.

The first thing to remember is that you have two names on Twitter: the username and the profile name.

• Your Twitter username is the name that comes with the @ identifier. It also defines the URL of your Twitter profile. Your username is thus not only visible when tweeting, but also in links related to your profile.
• Your profile name is more personal than the username, as it does not directly define your Twitter channel, but comes first in your posts.

The username is thus in a sense your address on Twitter, while the profile name stands for yourself as a person.

How to change your Twitter name

First, we will show you how to change the username:

1. Log in to twitter.com.
2. Click on "More" on the left.
3. Select "Settings and Privacy" here.
4. Click on your username on the right. There you can change your username on Twitter. Just enter the name you want in the field and then click "Save changes" at the bottom.

To note: You can only use the new name if it is not already in use by another user.

1. Go to your profile page.
