Satisfactory: Multiplayer only with each other, not against each other

For multiplayer fun in Satisfactory here is the most important info:

• Up to four players can participate in a game.
• Only the joint game (co-op) is possible, PVP does not exist.
• Dedicated servers do not exist (so far); each session must be hosted by a player.
• You have the choice to play only with friends or also allow strangers to enter.
• Importantly, Satisfactory allows crossplay between Steam and Epic Games.

The last point is very positive, as the game has a large community on both gaming platforms respectively. On the available player pool for multiplayer sessions, crossplay has a noticeable impact and everyone benefits from it.
