What is TAN in online banking? You should know

If you have ever dealt with online banking and the associated processes, you have certainly come across the term "TAN". TAN stands for "transaction number" and serves as a security procedure when it comes to confirming a transaction through a bank account.

What is TAN in online banking? What's behind it

A TAN, or transaction number, is required to complete a transaction or banking transaction. The number is unique and should only be known to you.
  1. A TAN is a six-digit number that serves as a kind of password to confirm a transaction that has just been scheduled. By entering the TAN in the online mask, the banking transaction is confirmed and carried out.
  2. TANs are required for any type of transfer or transaction and serve your security.
  3. Since a bank can not check your identity via an online transaction, you need the TAN as a kind of access and confirmation at the same time.
  4. TANs can be created and received via smartphone, via SMS or even directly via a so-called TAN generator.

Die TAN: So funktioniert das Verfahren
