JDownloader CRC error - these are the causes

If you receive a CRC error message when downloading file archives with JDownloader, this indicates that the loaded files are faulty. The archives can then only be partially unpacked or not at all. But what is the best way to fix the problem?

What you can do in case of a CRC error

In case of a CRC error, archives in ZIP or RAR format can only be unpacked partially or in some cases not at all. There are some tricks you can try to fix the cause of the problem.
  1. To avoid the error message in the future, it may help if you update JDownloader to the latest version. Also make sure that the Java Runtime Environment is also on the latest version.
  2. Further it can help to limit the download speed in JDownloader. The corresponding setting for this can be found in the settings under the item "Speed limit".
  3. If you use the unpack function of the JDownloader and receive the CRC error message only during automatic unpacking, disable the feature in the settings.
  4. Also problems with the Internet connection can trigger the error.

Download archive files one by one

With a large number of archives, it is often time-consuming to download them all again. If you get the error message only on the last package, you can reset the download and re-download only the one package. If the corrupted package is further back or if there are multiple packages, download the archives one by one.
