View Fortnite FPS: With these settings it works

In Fortnite you can display how many frames per second (FPS) the game runs at. The higher the frame rate, the smoother Fortnite plays. How high the FPS is depends mainly on the performance of your hardware.

How to activate the FPS display in Fortnite

Fortnite offers the option to activate an FPS display in the graphics settings. This way you can always see what frame rate the game is currently running at.

1. Open Fortnite.
2. Click on the menu button in the top right corner.
3. Navigate to the settings via the menu. These are marked with the gear icon.
4. In the settings, switch to the "Graphics" tab.
5. There you will find "Show frame rate". Activate the option by setting the switch to "On".
6. To apply the changes, click "Apply".

If the option "Show frame rate" is enabled, the FPS will always be displayed on the right side of the screen.

Improve FPS

If your computer only just meets the system requirements for Fortnite, this will be noticeable in the frame rate, among other things. It is then often low or drops sharply in graphics-intensive situations.However, there are a few tricks you can use to counteract this. Shadows, for example, are a real FPS killer. Try setting them to "low" or "medium". This should make a significant difference in performance. Also do without edge smoothing (anit aliasing). This is noticeable in the visuals, but often brings a strong FPS boost.
