Word: Count characters and words - this is how it works

In Word you can manage various tasks for word processing. Of course, the tool supports you in many ways with useful functions to make editing even easier. Among other things, it is possible to have all the words and characters already written counted.

Word: Count characters and words

To count all the words you have already written, you must use the spell checker of the program.

1. Open Word and create a new document or open an already created document.
2. Now click on the top left of the ribbon on the "Check" item.
3. There you will now again on the left side of the "Document Check" section.
4. Here hides the option Count words.
5. The new window now shows you the exact number of all characters and words contained in the document.
6. If you want to analyze only a certain area of the document, select it before and then click on "Count words".

1. Sollte die Funktion einmal nicht funktionieren oder trauen Sie ungerne nur einer einzigen Quelle, können Sie auch über einen anderen Weg Ihr Dokument prüfen lassen.
2. Navigieren Sie dazu auf die Webseite zeichenzähler.de und fügen Sie Ihren Text in das Textfeld ein.
3. Anschließend wird automatisch der Text analysiert und zeigt Ihnen sogar an, wie viele Abschnitte angelegt wurden.
