1. Compass and map are located in a cave in The Forest.
2. To find this cave even without a map, a few steps are necessary. The cave is located next to a relatively large village. In addition, the entrance is marked with a row of stacked skulls.
3. To get right at the beginning in the "Hanging Cave" or Cave 2, you can take advantage of the fact that you do not die directly the first time in the game.
4. So if you let the locals drag you into the cave, you wake up in Cave 2 hanging upside down from the ceiling.
