WordPress: Disable comments - how to do it

If you want to disable comments for your entire WordPress site, proceed as follows:- Log into the backend of your WordPress site.
- Click in the left navigation bar under "Settings" on "Discussion". There you will find all the settings for comments on your site.
- To disable comments in principle, remove the check mark from "Allow visitors to comment on new posts".
- In addition, you have the option here to automatically disable comments after a certain time by checking the option "Close comments on articles older than ... days" under "More comment settings".
WordPress: Disable comments only on individual posts
You can change the comment setting not only in principle, but also individually for each post. So if there are pages on which you do not want to allow comments, but on other pages you do, this can be easily implemented. For individual posts, you can also easily disable comments:- Call up the post where you want to make the change. Whether the post has already been published or not does not matter.
- Under the text field you should see the "Discussion" area.
- Uncheck the "Allow comments" box there.
