Micro SD card: remove write protection

SD cards you use in your smartphone or camera. However, if the card is write-protected, you will not be able to save, transfer or copy files. So to use your SD card again as usual, you need to remove the write protection.

How to remove write protection from your Micro SD card

If you can't transfer or copy files to or from your SD card from your smartphone or PC, then the card is most likely write-protected. To use the SD card again, you need to remove the write protection.

1. First, check if the lock switch on the adapter of your Micro SD is flipped. So slide it in the possible direction and check if you can now use the SD card.
2. You can also use Windows to remove write protection. Connect the card to your computer using an adapter.
3. Then select the card with the right mouse button and click "Full access". If this is not possible, go to "Properties" > "Sharing" > "Advanced Sharing" > "Share this folder" > "Permission". Aktivieren Sie hier die Option „Vollzugriff“.
4. Eine weitere Ursache ist, dass der Schalter im Kartenleser nicht bestätigt wird. Um dieses Problem zu lösen, müssen Sie den Lock-Schalter isolieren.
