Resetting the WLAN - how to do it

If problems occur when connecting to the WLAN network, it can help to reset the WLAN and set it up again. In this article, we will show you what options you have for performing a reset and how to proceed correctly.

This is how you reset the WLAN on the router

If you have problems with your WLAN network, they can often be solved by resetting the WLAN. Regardless of which device you use to access the Internet, resetting the WLAN connection is possible directly at the router. Most WLAN routers have their own reset button for this purpose, which you must hold down for a few seconds to start the reset.

This procedure resets the WLAN on the PC or mobile device

As an alternative to the route via the router, you can also reset the WLAN via the settings of your computer or mobile device. This procedure is especially recommended if the WLAN problems only occur on a specific device.
  1. If you have a Windows 10 PC, please first open the settings by pressing the "Windows key" and "I" simultaneously. Then in the settings, navigate to "Network and Internet" and select the "Reset Network" option.
  2. If you are using an Android device, to open the settings app, please tap the "gear icon" and go to "General" > "Reset" > "Reset Network Settings" in them.
  3. If you want to reset the WLAN on an iPhone, open the settings there as well first before going to "General" > "Reset" and tap on "Network Settings" to reset all WLAN networks and passwords.
