Can you read e-books from Amazon on your Tolino?

In order to open e-books purchased on Amazon on your Tolino e-book reader, you must first convert the books to the correct format. Otherwise, the reader will not be able to open the books. Learn how the conversion works and what to consider.

Convert Amazon e-books for Tolino Reader

The Tolino e-book reader supports all popular open e-book formats such as ePub. Amazon uses either the in-house AZW or Mobi format for e-books. These formats are not supported by Tolino readers. However, with the software Calibre you have the possibility to convert the Amazon e-books into a supported format.

1. Install Calibre on your Mac or PC and start the program.
2. Add the e-book to your library via "Add books".
3. Now connect the Tolino Reader to the computer via USB cable.
4. Click on the "Send to Reader" button in the toolbar. Calibre will then automatically convert the book into the correct format and transfer it to the Reader.

If the book is not displayed directly after the transfer or is not available, a restart of the Tolino Reader will help.

Automate conversion - what you need to know

In Calibre you have the option to automate the conversion so that books that are added to the library are converted directly into a format you specify. You can find corresponding options in the Calibre settings under "Behavior". In addition, you need to enable the "Automatically convert added books to the current output format" option in the "Add" tab.
