Print DIN A3 to A4 - these are your options

Most people only have a printer at home that can print documents up to DIN A4 size. Nevertheless, to print a file or a poster in A3 size, you need to reduce it or split it into several pages. Read how to do this correctly.

How to reduce an A3 file to print on A4

If you have a document on your computer in A3 format and you don't want to go to a copy store to print it, the problem can be solved by reducing the size of the document and printing it on an A4 page. To do this, you only need Adobe Reader on your PC and the document in PDF format.

1. To print the document, open it in Adobe Reader and navigate to "File" > "Print" or click on the printer icon in the toolbar.
2. In the print window that opens, select the option "Reduce oversized pages" or set your own size adjustment under "Custom scale".
3. Adjust other settings such as alignment or color if necessary and click "Print" to start the printing process.

DIN A3: With this procedure you print the format on several A4 pages

If the A3 file is, for example, a poster that you do not want to reduce for printing, there is the possibility of printing this on several A4 pages. For this method, also open the file in Adobe Reader and go to the Print dialog. There, click on "Poster" and check the option "Split large pages only". Set a value for the partial scaling and finally click on "Print".
