Android 11: Transfer data to new phone

When switching to a new smartphone, of course, the data must not be left behind. Android itself offers a few ways to transfer pictures, videos and data to a new device.

How to transfer your data to a new Android 11 smartphone

If you want to transfer data from an old Android smartphone to a new one, there are several ways to do so. One of the simplest options is synchronization with the Google account. If you have activated the backup function there, data such as contacts, settings, e-mails or photos are saved via the account. Since you need a Google account to set up an Android smartphone anyway, this simplifies the move to a new smartphone.
  1. Start your new smartphone and tap "Start" to begin the setup process.
  2. When asked, specify that you want to synchronize your data via an existing Google account.
  3. Now log in with your Google account. All data stored in the account will be transferred to the new device.
  4. Follow the further instructions of the wizard to complete the setup.
Removed from the setup process, you can also log in with a Google account at any time in the settings of your smartphone. Alternatively, some smartphone manufacturers also offer extra apps to help you transfer data to a new device. In addition, you have the option of transferring your data manually using a memory card or a calculator.
