MHW Iceborne: Multiplayer scaling explained - all info

Whether in the main game or in Iceborne, Monster Hunter World is meant for one to four players. However, with Iceborne, there was an important change in multiplayer scaling. Read what it's all about.

Duo on the hunt: In Iceborne, there is multiplayer scaling for two players.

The monsters' health points depend on the number of players to ensure a difficulty level that is always adjusted. In Iceborne, however, this system has been refined.

MHW Iceborne: Multiplayer scaling now also for two players

Here is all the info on multiplayer scaling in Iceborne, as well as the comparison to before:
  • In Monster Hunter World, there were only two scaling levels: solo and multiplayer. The latter level brought the monster scores up to the four-player level, even if there were only two or three players in the mission.
  • This specifically made two-player play difficult, as the four-player difficulty made for lengthy battles.
  • With Iceborne, this changed, as the scaling now exists for two players as well. This is clearly noticeable and makes two-player hunting perhaps the most popular mode, as the Palicos are also included.
  • On the other hand, nothing has changed for three players - the scaling for four players still applies here.
