In order to install games through PlayStation Store, you need a PlayStation Network account. Since the games you buy are tied to your PSN account, you should make sure that no one can gain unwanted access to your account. This is done via two-step verification.
How to better protect your PSN account
If you want to protect your PSN account from third-party access, two-step authentication can help. You just need to set this up beforehand.- In order to use two-factor verification, you will need a smartphone in addition to a PSN account with an email address, as you will be sent a security code via SMS on it, which you will need to log in.
- Go to Settings on your PS4 and select the "PlayStation Network" option there.
- Next, click on the "Account Management" button. Then go to "Account Information" > "Security" > "Two-step verification".
- Click "Set up now" to start the two-step authentication.
- Next, you need to enter your country and mobile number.
- After that, you will receive an SMS with a code. Enter this on your PS4 in the field provided.
- Finally click "Activate".
- Under "Two-step verification" you will find ten replacement codes.
