Olive oil test: the most important results
The Stiftung Warentest regularly carries out tests in which it checks the quality of various services and products. In addition to multimedia and household appliances, Stiftung Warentest also checks furniture, kitchen appliances and selected food products. In the category of food tests also falls the review of oils such as sunflower, rapeseed or olive oil.- The last test in which Stiftung Warentest reviewed the quality of olive oils was in 2018.
- Thereby, a total of 28 olive oils of the quality class "extra virgin" were examined, which belong to the highest quality class.
- While two oils could convince neither taste nor smell, five olive oils received the grade "good". These included the cheap olive oil "Cucina DOP Terra di Bari Castel del Monte", which is available at Aldi South.
- The test winner was the "Castillo de Canena Extra Virgin Olive Oil", however, a more expensive olive oil, which costs about 36 euros per liter.
