Where are Firefox settings stored?
If you change computers or want to completely reinstall Firefox for another reason, then it is a good idea to export the settings beforehand. Then you can import them into the new browser. For this to be possible, you first need to know where the settings are stored on your computer.

When you reinstall your operating system or browser, the settings you have made are usually completely lost. To prevent this, you can export the settings beforehand and import them again after the installation. Before doing so, however, it is important to know where these settings are stored on your computer.- Start Firefox and open the Help menu.
- Here, go to the "Troubleshooting Information" item to get to troubleshooting.
- In the "General Information" area, you will find the "Show in Finder" button. Click it to get to Firefox's profile folder on your computer.
- On iOS, you can also find the folder via the Finder. Open it and click "Go to" at the top. Then press the Option key and click on the entry "Library".
- After that, open the folder "Application Support" > "Firefox" > "Profiles".
- On a Windows PC, you can also find the folder manually. To do this, click "Windows key" + "R" and enter "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\". Confirm with "Ok". Then you get to the profile folder.
