As a fast-paced team shooter, Valorant requires not only reflexes and aiming accuracy, but also the right group composition. For this, an understanding of roles is essential.

Roles in Valorant are what other games call classes. With four roles, the selection is still somewhat manageable; however, even this number allows for quite different possibilities.

These four roles exist in Valorant

Each hero in Valorant belongs to one of the following four roles:

• Initiator: As an initiator (Sage, for example), you play a kind of vanguard that helps the team initiate the next move and gain control of the situation.
• Duellist: The Duelist is a specialist in direct confrontation. As such, he is not independently dependent on the team, but also manages well on his own.
• Tactician: With a tactician on the team, you increase the level of knowledge of your team regarding the opponent. For analysis and planning tacticians are indispensable.
