iPhone call failed: How to fix it

If you receive the error message "Call failed" when you want to make a call with your iPhone, the trigger for this can have various causes. Learn here what options you have to fix the problem so you can get back to making calls on your smartphone as usual.

iPhone: What you can do if you have call problems

If you can no longer make calls with your iPhone, this can be due to various causes.
  1. Turn flight mode on and off so that the cell phone reconnects to the mobile network.
  2. If reconnecting does not help, turn off your iPhone completely and restart it. To do this, press and hold the power button until the power off slider appears on the display. On newer iPhone models, you need to press one of the two volume buttons in addition to the power button.
  3. If you have deactivated your caller ID, this can cause problems with both incoming and outgoing calls. You can find the corresponding setting for this in the "Phone" category under the "Send my caller ID" option.

Reset iPhone network settings

If the problems persist, the reason may be a network error. In such a case, it helps to reset your iPhone's network settings.
  1. Go to the Settings app and tap "General".
  2. Scroll down and select "Reset".
  3. Then select the "Network Settings" option and confirm the selection with your iPhone lock code.
  4. Finally tap "Reset" to confirm the process.
If resetting the network settings does not remedy the situation either, you can try to reset the iPhone to factory settings.
