Star Citizen: How FOIP works - all info on the technology
Star Citizen doesn't just want to be a huge, detail-oriented game, it also wants to set new standards in terms of simulation. This includes FOIP, which has long been on board.
A realistic gameplay experience is meant to deepen the experience in Star Citizen.Star Citizen: More realism through FOIP
FOIP means "Face over IP." It is about facial recognition in the game:- Per camera, your face is filmed and incorporated directly into the game. Thanks to FOIP, you are in Star Citizen consequently with your real face on the road, albeit as a computer graphic.
- In addition, FOIP also brings a real practical aspect, namely with the so-called head tracking: Turn your head, the head of your game character is also turned - so you can look around without entering keys.
- The prerequisite for FOIP is logically a camera. Important criteria are the resolution (at least 1080p is advisable, as in this model) as well as the light sensitivity.
- Theoretically, FOIP is also possible via smartphone and suitable software such as iVCam, but front cameras are usually not known for high frame rates and strong light.
