F1 2019: These driving aids you can adjust - all info

A Formula 1 car is much harder to drive than normal cars. To help you still have fun in F1 2019, there are various driving aids. In the following, we present them.

Increase as needed: driving aids are practical, but can be turned off at any time.

Grip, braking points, and shifting paths play a crucial role in the race. Without driving aids, beginners would be at a loss at first.

F1 2019: Setting driving aids - what do the individual aids do?

In F1 2019, there are the following driving aids:
  • The brake assistant supports you when braking and thus makes it easier to stay on track.
  • The ABS prevents the wheels from locking when braking. Driving without ABS (explained in more detail here) is considered particularly demanding and requires a lot of practice.
  • The traction control gives the car stability when accelerating. It prevents spinning wheels and oversteer, so you have grip at all times and never lose the car.
  • The automatic gearshift takes over all gear changes for them, so you can fully concentrate on the track.
  • The ideal line does not directly intervene in the driving mechanics, but is a valuable helper. You can only dispense with the display when you know a track really well.
All these driving aids ensure that beginners get along well in F1 2019. Over time, however, it is advisable to gradually turn off the driving aids, as this makes better times possible. It makes sense to always turn off a driving aid first and get used to it before pulling out more stops. In the first step, it is usually the brake assistant, then you can drive without ABS or traction control; this requires much more tact, but also brings all the more speed advantages.
