Email can't be sent - what you can do

It is not uncommon that you would like to send an email but it never reaches the recipient. After a few days, you check your inbox to see if a reply has arrived and notice that the mail has not been sent at all. What can be the reason for this?

These are the reasons why a mail is not sent

Why your mail never leaves the inbox can have different reasons. Often it is because you had no Internet connection at that exact moment.

1. At the time of sending, small dropouts of your router can already prevent the mail from being sent.
2. Also malfunctions at the mail server can prevent sending. Whether there is a malfunction, you can easily check by calling the official website of your mail provider.

4. If the firewall or an antivirus program is active on your PC, the sending of the e-mail can also be blocked by this. Therefore, turn off the services temporarily.

What you can do if the e-mail is not sent

Should you get directly after clicking on "Send" a mail that your message could not be delivered, this is either because the recipient does not exist or your Internet was briefly not connected. Simply send the mail again. Check your mailbox and the "Sent" folder regularly. If your mail cannot be found there, it was not sent.
