With the messenger Telegram you can easily chat with other contacts or exchange videos and pictures. If you want to use the app, you need to provide a mobile number beforehand. If you do not want to do this, you will not be able to use the app. Alternatively, it is possible to hide the number.

Is it possible to use Telegram without a number?

Once you have downloaded and installed Telegram from the respective store, you still need to create an account in order to use the app. Here you will be asked to enter a cell phone number. However, if you do not want to do this, you will not be able to use the instant messenger. If you still want to keep your number secret from other users, you can alternatively hide it.

1. Open the Telegram app on your smartphone.
