Setting up a WLAN hotspot - how to do it

You can set up a WLAN hotspot on your computer as well as on your tablet or smartphone. Once activated, this gives you the option of sharing the Internet connection of the respective device via WLAN and also accessing it from other devices.

Setting up a WLAN hotspot: How to do it on your computer

To access the Internet connection of your Windows computer from other devices, you can set up a hotspot on it. To do this, please first click the "Windows icon" to open the Start menu, and then click the gear icon to enter the settings. There, go to "Network and Internet" > "Mobile Hotspot" and enable the function. Then click on "Edit" and set a name and password for your WLAN hotspot.

How you set up a WLAN hotspot on your smartphone or tablet depends on the operating system installed on the device. If you use an iPhone, please navigate to "Settings" > "Mobile Network" > "Personal Hotspot" on it and activate the function by tapping the slider.
  1. If you want to set up a hotspot on an Android smartphone or tablet, open the settings on it first as well.
  2. Then go there to "Network & Internet" > "Hotspot and Tethering" and tap on the entry "WLAN hotspot".
  3. Select that you want to set up a new WLAN hotspot and set a name and password for it.
